Bargain find of the week: Boots

I found this pair of boots from a garage sale for $1.50. So here's how I wore and rock it.

I paired it with an oversized top (Walmart$5). My skirt was from a 2nd hand store long time ago; I can't remember how much it cost. I got the parasol for $5 from a theme park we went to this summer (Adventureland, if you're ever in Des Moines). The purse came from Gordman's for $5 (clearance). This overall look cost me below $20. Can you believe that?

Bargain find of the week

Here's a cute and unique purse I got from a garage sale for a dollar. I think anybody can make one like this. If you have an old purse or tote, you can put beads, sequins or anything creative to style it. Voila, you will have your own cool customized purse.

The only thing I'm not crazy about is this has weak plastic straps. I can't put a lot of stuff in it because it will not hold. I am used to big purses and I always carry a lot of stuff. But in this one I can only put my wallet, camera, phone, and some makeup. But hey, it's just for a dollar. I should not expect anything more.

Oh I just thought of something! I'm going to look for an old belt and replace the straps on this one to make it more sturdy.

Unique Flower Pots

Flowers are one of the good things about summer. To add flair to your beautiful flower garden, if you happen to visit a garage sale, look for unique and interesting stuff that you can use as flower pots. We found some stuff at the garage sale that we can use:




1. the milk can- $10, painted it yellow and planted with mixed flowers




2. a coal bucket - $1, planted with lollipop daisies




3. an old broken torchiere lamp - we pulled from our basement, took the base/stand off and stuck it in the ground and planted lavender petunias.

Cool and unique flower pots don't have to cost a lot of money.
Be creative! Don't be afraid to be different and make your flower garden look like no other!

You might think stuff from garage sales or thrift stores are not really pretty, but you can wear them and work them and flaunt them. It doesnt have to look so cheap. Just be confident and show your individual style. You don't have to follow the fad. You don't have to buy those expensive designer brands. So when you go shopping next time, you might want to drop by the garage sales or the thrift shops first.

1. The necklace I'm wearing is just 50 cents at the garage sale.

2. The leather purse I got for only $1 at the garage sale.

3. The purple belt, I got from the thrift shop/goodwill/salvation army for $3

So when you go out of the house or just driving around, look at the signs and check out these cool bargains. You never know, you might find a vintage top or an antique craft that is worth something.
